On Sunday afternoons in July and August, classical music concerts take place in the open air. An almost 30-year-old tradition of organizing these concerts shows us that they have their permanent audience, which grows in number from concert to concert.
The great asset is the outdoor aspect of the cycle, which enables a wide crowd of music lovers, people taking a walk, and tourists who flock to Łazienki Królewskie Park and Wilanów Palace to encounter music. These concerts fulfil the role of a “plenary philharmonic” which replaces the institutions which are closed during summer vacation. The Mazovia Region Centre of Culture and Arts – the organizer of the cycle of concerts – has foreseen an alternative venue for concerts in the event of bad weather. Then the concerts take place inside the Old Orangery (Stara Pomarańczarnia) in Łazienki Królewskie Park and the Orangery (Oranżeria) in Wilanów Palace. |
